Stall

Come to our stall on School Mead for hedgehog based activities. Find out how you can make your garden more hedgehog friendly, learn about the life of a hedgehog, make clay hedgehogs and put any hedgehog sightings on our hedgehog map.

Hedgehog Highway

As part of this event we want to make a hedgehog highway in the gardens around School Mead. Hedgehogs roam up to 2 miles a night in search of food, and one of the major barriers they face are garden fences.

We are looking for people who live near School Mead who would like to have a hedgehog hole in their wall or fence.

A hedgehog hole is a small (13cm x 13cm) hole at the bottom of a fence which allows hedgehogs (but not bigger animals like cats) to pass through. Some examples of hedgehog holes can be seen at https://www.hedgehogstreet.org/help-hedgehogs/link-your-garden/

We will bring two people, the necessary tools and as much help as you would like.

You will need a suitable fence and your neighbours permission !

Please get in touch with us at abbotsintransition@gmail.com if you are interested and would like to discuss this further.
